Facebook login problem :
Someone rightly said that “Technology ditches us when we need it the most” 😉 This came true a couple of days back with me as I was busy chatting with one of my cousin and she just asked me to check my Facebook account to watch few pictures she has posted in her Facebook photo album. Since the pictures were related to a family function so I was equally excited to catch the glimpses of her Facebook profiles at earliest, while keeping her on phone line I was trying to sign in my Facebook account….And then started the temporary Facebook glitches.
For once I thought that I may have wrongly typed my login credentials, but my fear was unfounded as the problem was with FB and not me at that time. I carefully read the message appearing on my computer screen it was clearly saying that I could not login for some uncertain time up to 24 hours due to some back end maintenance work going on at Facebook servers. Ans yes for another 30 minutes I was trying to login in to my Facebook account but the same message was up on display every time. Finally I get through a successful login after 30 minutes and all my files lists and other profile details were intact. In the mean time i captured those screen shots and decided to post it on the blog to update everyone on how to handle such a situation when you are unable to login in to your Facebook account temporarily without creating a panic and havoc situation.
On the below pasted screen shot#1 the message was:
“Facebook Will Be Back Soon
Facebook is down for maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime , read more about why you’re seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site”
Upon clicking the read more hyperlink the below note was found on Facebook help center:
[ I’m getting a “Facebook Will Be Back Soon” message when I try to log in.
If you’re seeing this message when you log in, it usually means that we’re making an improvement to the database that your account is stored on. While we’re doing this, you won’t be able to access your account. We’re sorry for the inconvenience! This maintenance shouldn’t last more than a few hours.
A few notes:
- After the maintenance is over, you’ll still be able to log in with the same password
- Your account will not be affected by the maintenance
- We don’t do site maintenance on all accounts at the same time, so it’s possible that your friends will be able to access the site while your account is unavailable
If you’re still seeing this error after 24 hours, let us know.]
Then another page was linked to the last let us know link (disabled here) the below message appeared on the computer screen.
Thankfully I did not required to use the contact form as my Facebook account was up and running after this brief outage, but for sure I got panicked as I am too possessive about my FB account like all others 😉
